Launch your campaign

It’s free to submit your music

The Musosoup team listens to every submission to make sure that it’s ready for coverage. You only pay the campaign activation to start your campaign once your submission has been approved.

Apply directly to curators

You can apply to curators’ promotions directly via our marketplace. Browse and apply for hundreds of promotions, only paying if the curator commits to work with you. No money wasted on feedback.

Let curators come to you

Unlike other music submission platforms where you pay every time you submit to a curator, on Musosoup you submit just once and your release gets sent to every curator on our platform.

Choose your coverage

During your campaign, you decide which offers to accept and which to reject. Whether you want to just accept free offers or engage with paid coverage, it’s totally up to you.

A Musosoup campaign on average generates the following coverage for an artist:

33

Free playlist adds

9

Items of free coverage

45

Pieces of paid coverage

The average price of paid coverage is £8.50 (around $10.50) per item. On average an artist will spend £36 (around $45) to set up the campaign and £76.50 (around $96) on paid coverage. 90% of paid coverage costs go to curators to support independent music promotion.

Our mission is to find a way to support independent music.

That means supporting the independent, grassroots music press that is vital for discovering and promoting great new music. Musosoup is designed to help them – and grassroots music – to thrive. We do this by allowing a curator to include a small fee when making an offer for coverage. This helps them run their blog, website, radio station, magazine or whatever channel they use to promote great music.

What is paid coverage?

FAQs

  • You’ll pay a one-off fee of £36 (which is around $45) for a 21-day campaign on Musosoup, which puts your music in front of hundreds of active curators.

During your campaign, you’ll receive offers from curators who genuinely like your music and want to promote it.

Some of the offers you receive will have an associated cost, which covers the time taken to generate it, and any marketing costs to promote the content.

However, all chargeable offers must come with a free alternative, so once you’ve paid your campaign fee, it is possible to receive coverage for no further cost.

  • Having been on the receiving end of countless hours of music, we understand that sometimes a track just isn’t of a high enough quality for curators to support it. By having this approval system, we make sure you don’t spend any money unless you have a good chance of success on our platform.

  • Submit your track and get your campaign ready up to 90 days before your release date. Your 21 days start from the day your music is released, or from when you activate your campaign if you’ve already released your music. We recommend planning ahead to generate as much interest and coverage as possible.

  • We ask that all artists have a full press kit ready with their submission, including release artwork and an artist press photo. This is to ensure our curators have everything they need instantly, to make covering your release as easy as possible.

But don’t worry if you don’t have everything to hand immediately when you submit your music, as you can easily step back into the process and add elements as and when you have them prior to your release date.

  • No, you can submit singles, EPs and albums to our curators, and you’ll receive coverage offers accordingly.

  • Yes. It’s not just artists themselves who benefit from using Musosoup, as many labels, managers and PR agents also use our platform to submit to curators.

  • Yes. In fact, you’re more likely to receive offers in the second half of your campaign. When curators log in they’re automatically shown the tracks nearing the end of their campaign that they’ve not yet listened to.

  • The average cost of an offer on Musosoup is £8.50, which can include the time it takes a curator to produce the coverage, plus any marketing costs incurred to promote it.

Bear in mind that every offer made by a curator is always accompanied by a free alternative, which means artists can always receive free coverage to some degree when their Musosoup campaign is active.

  • We’re very determined to make a platform that’s fair for both artists and curators. This is why we let our curators offer certain types of coverage with an additional cost which covers their time and marketing costs.

However, every offer must be accompanied with a free alternative for promotion, which you can instead accept for no cost.

  • Our platform lets you receive offers from bloggers, playlisters, podcasters, stations and influencers, giving you a wide variety of coverage options to suit your strategy and budget.

We monitor all curators on our platform closely (whether they’re asking for an additional cost or not) to ensure that they’re giving a high-quality level of coverage. This means no copy-pasting press releases or poor-quality writing, for example.

  • That hasn’t happened yet, most likely because we’ll never approve a submission if we don’t feel it would gain traction on our platform.

But if it were to actually happen, we’ll give you your next campaign free of charge so you can try again!

  • We currently have more than 300 monthly active curators using the Musosoup platform, consistently offering coverage to artists.

  • We currently have a wide range of bloggers, radio stations, podcasters, playlist curators and influencers actively using our platform, which will be reflected in the different types of offers you’ll receive during your campaign.
